I have enjoyed supporting the school as a Foundation Governor for around five years, during which time we have undergone some significant and positive changes. I chair the Personnel and Curriculum committee, which is responsible for monitoring the quality of teaching within the school and the progress the children are making across all subjects. I am also the governor responsible for overseeing how we provide education for children with Special Educational Needs. The best part of being a governor is coming into school and seeing the children learning. I enjoy the school’s friendly atmosphere and its Christian spirit, and because my own two children studied here, I have seen first-hand the role that St Augustine’s plays in instilling a caring and responsible attitude in its students. Aside from being a school governor, I work in Marketing Communications for a company in Corby and love rugby, cricket, and sometimes football (only when my team wins …).
