Our Vision

“Like St Augustine, we are guided by God’s wisdom, to embrace challenge and strive to achieve our best, enjoying all that we do together.”

The context for our school vision lies in this excerpt from Colossians 3:23 – ‘Be the best that you can be; Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord’.

” Pupils reflect regularly on the school’s values and
what these mean to them.” OFSTED March 2023

Our Christian Values

At St Augustine’s Church of England Junior School, we provide a safe and stimulating environment where all can flourish. Our six carefully chosen Christian Values, in collaboration between all stakeholders, sit side by side with our British Values, which permeate through all aspects of school life. Each term has a different Christian Value as a focus, and the children take great pride in demonstrating how they are able to live this value out in all that they do.

Our British Values

In collaboration with our Christian Values, the fundamental British values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, encompass all that we do at St Augustine’s. Through our weekly ‘British Values Awards’, we celebrate and highlight childrens’ success at living out these fundamental values.

Our Ethos Statement – Instrument of Government

Recognising our historic foundation, St Augustine’s C of E  (VA) Junior School will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with St. Augustine’s Church and the Ely Diocese. We aim to serve our local community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promote Christian values through the experience we offer. We work, in partnership, with children, parents, the church community and the wider community, to enable spiritual, moral, social and academic growth. Working together in this way we raise aspirations, standards of behaviour and attainment.
