After an exciting debut in 2018, Forest School at St Augustine’s is continuing one morning per week for children in Years 3 and 4, allowing our children to continue on their Forest School journey.
The Forest School ethos believes that children have the right to play in and have access to the outdoors (in particular woodlands) plus the right to access risk and enjoy the natural world while experiencing a healthy range of emotions through challenges to build up resilience with others.
I (Mrs Grange) am also pleased to say that after qualifying as a Level 3 Advanced Forest School Leader in 2017, I will continue to lead all sessions with Mrs Steel (Lead Midday Supervisor and Eco Assistant) working alongside me.
The school Paddock will continue to be used for exploring, having fun and building on the outdoor skills that pupils have already developed. Sessions go ahead in all weathers so that the children can experience the natural world in all of the UK’s seasons!
